I make art for black kids that grew up on anime, kickball and sugar. Inspired by my community around me, my work often explores joy and anxiety. Open to experimenting with various mediums and techniques, I'm always trying something new.
Buzz Me Up, Digital, 2020. Home is a collage of small moments with my community. The music played in the cars in my neighborhood. The tune of the ice cream truck I've supported since age 5. The small errands I run. Every Sunday in 2020, I was tasked with taking Sunday dinner to my grandmother's apartment. I couldn't enter the unit but I have fond memories of birthdays, sleepovers and impromptu drop ins in her home.
